For the last couple of days we've been enjoying a lot more Rest and Relaxation, in the form of Rachel and Rebecca, Katie's sisters. While Rebecca takes care of the babies, Rachel cooks up a storm in the kitchen, quadrupling recipes to stock our freezer. Everybody loves it when they come to our house. The babies get even more attention, and Daddy and Mommy get a break. :) On Thursday night, we enjoyed going on a date while Rachel and Rebecca watched Michael at home. Bethany came with us as a chaperone. ;) It has been great to have them with us, and if they weren't so loved at their house, we'd want to keep them with us always. We can hardly wait to have them come again!
We just enjoyed some refreshing days staying in Tom's parents' cabin in the San Bernardino moutains. It was great to get outside more and soak in some of God's beautiful creation.
Michael loved exploring every inch of the cabin, and finding all the things that were off limits. Everybody enjoyed the hikes that we took almost every day, including Bethany, who was fascinated by the trees.
On the fourth of July we loaded the little ones in the stroller and walked all the way around Lake Gregory. We learned the hard way that the walk was not very stroller-compatible! On one dirt hill that we rattled down, another hiker commented about how Michael was already learning to off-road. :) We all had lots of fun! :)
It was hard to come back home, but we all hope to do it again soon!
On Memorial Day, Michael decided to graduate to a new stage in his life--the toddler stage. He took quite a few steps by himself on that day, and walks quite a bit now! It is a strange but fun feeling to see him walking through the house throughout the day! I guess he's not a baby anymore! :)
Last Thursday I got to have a friend over that is little like me! Kristi and I are just 7 weeks apart in age, and we have a lot of the same interests. We both like to eat, be cuddled, eat, swing in our baby swings--and did I mention eating? :) When Kristi was over, our mommies dressed us in matching outfits, and laid us on a blanket next to each other. It was fun, but I think it was our mommies who got the most enjoyment out of it, because of the way they smiled, laughed, and flashed bright lights in our faces with cameras! We all had a great time, and I hope my friend will come over again soon!
